MILTON

The Milton Common Council voted unanimously Tuesday night in support of Clasen Quality Chocolate’s request to add a 77,000-square-foot production building to its existing facility at 2100 Putman Parkway.

Clasen representatives who were present at Tuesday’s meeting predicted that the expansion will bring in additional property tax revenue through the city’s TIF District #11.

The site is in a tax incremental finance district and Clasen's addition is included in a developer’s agreement.

Milton City Administrator Paul Hensch said he is excited to see continued growth in the business park and said additional lots remain available for future development.

He said Clasen has been great to work with and said he is happy to see the company expand in Milton, bringing the potential for new jobs and the potential to lure new people who want to live in Milton.

It was not clear Tuesday night when construction would begin.
