Cotta LLC, a gearboxes manufacturer, is relocating from Beloit to a portion of the former Serta Simmons Bedding factory in Janesville. The Janesville City Council approved a development jobs agreement providing up to $186,000 in TIF funds over 10 years to support the move. Cotta will lease 66,770 sq ft of the 286,251 sq ft building, investing $2 million and creating 40 full-time jobs with a $3.5 million annual payroll. The move, expected to be completed by September, is part of Cotta's expansion strategy and is facilitated by the city's redevelopment of the former Serta building into smaller leasable units within a TIF district.
